Wed 14 Mar. 7.25pm. St Edward’s. Cardiff Recorded Music Society.  Have You Heard This? Following her fascinating talk on Inessa Galante last season, Mavis Slaughter reveals the results of her exploration of composers, pieces of music, instruments and performers which will prove equally illuminating. Non-members welcome (entrance £2).

Fri 16 March. 7.30pm. St John’s, Canton. Welsh Camerata. The Lamentations of Jeremiah the Prophet – interpretations of this sacred text by composers such as Robert White, Antoine Brumel, François Couperin, Francisco Valls and Thomas Tallis. Tickets £10 (retired, unemployed or full time education £8)

Sat 24 March. 7.30pm. St German’s. Cardiff Polyphonic Choir present The Lamentations of Jeremiah (Tallis) and Lenten Motets. Tickets £12 (students/schoolchildren £6) online or on the door until sold out.

Sat 24 March. 7.30pm. St Edward’s. Spring Concert Series. Carissimi Singers perform the sacred oratorio Jephte by Giacomo Carissimi. Conducted by Kelvin Thomas. Organist Robert Court.
