Concert Series

St Edward's Music and Arts Centre hosts several series of concerts each year. These are mainly performances by local professional musicians, some well established, and some young musicians starting out in their careers. Most of the concerts are organised about a year in advance, but musicians who are interested in taking part are encouraged to contact us - there are sometimes cancellations that need to be replaced at relatively short notice. For our audiences these concerts provide a great opportunity to hear live music performed to a high standard on a regular basis at a fraction of the cost of commercial venues.

Coffee Concerts

Once a month, usually on the third Saturday morning, there is a "Coffee Concert" at 11am - about 45-60 minutes performance followed by an opportunity to meet the musicians with light refreshments. With a month off in August each year, this series has run continuously since February 2010. The series is organised by Jayne Thomas.

St Edward's Music & Arts Festival

For about a fortnight around the Feast Day of St Edward (13th October) there has been an Annual Music and Arts Festival at St Edward's Church since 1990. While some of the concerts are by professional musicians, this is also an opportunity for local amateurs, choirs, bands and ensembles to perform to a "sympathetic" audience. In 2009 an annual community arts festival Made in Roath was established locally, which usually happens to coincide with St Edward’s Music and Arts Festival. Each year St Edward’s Church hosts some of the Made in Roath events (and usually some of the Festival concerts are included in the Made in Roath programme).
