Pavane Early Music Consort
Based in Cardiff, Pavane Early Music Consort has been performing and recording instrumental and vocal music from the medieval to the early baroque periods (about 1100 to 1650) since 1992. We play a wide variety of authentic medieval and renaissance period instruments and our style varies from lively and raucous to courtly and domestic.
We play a wide variety of authentic medieval and renaissance period instruments - renaissance recorders, crumhorns, rauschpfeifs, percussion, shawms, curtals, lutes, cittern, oud, gemshorns, viols, virginals, fiddles, hurdy-gurdy and theorbo.
Currently Pavane is made up of the following players:-
Nick Bowman - recorders, crumhorns, rauschpfeif, cornet, gemshorn, shawm, bass viol, bass vocals.
Scott Baker - lute, cittern, oud, percussion, tenor.
Marilyn Hughes - medieval fiddle, viol, rebec and soprano.
Nicholas Minardi - recorders, crumhorns, flute, percussion.
Steve Metcalfe - lute, theorbo, renaissance guitar, recorders, hurdy-gurdy.
Janet Powell - recorders, crumhorns, rauschpfeif, sopranino shawm, gemshorn, harp, soprano.
Steven Powell - recorders, crumhorns, shawms, bagpipes, bass viol.
Eli Williams - virginals, harp, percussion and soprano.
