Dancing Keys: Through the Centuries
Dancing Keys is a project to compose pieces of moderate to advanced difficulty for piano, to serve as new repertoire for performers and act as an educational guide to the principal dance styles used by composers through the ages. This first set of 24 pieces covers all the major and minor keys, and traces some of the major dance styles of the past six centuries or so. From Pavane to Polka, Bourrée to Boogie-Woogie, there is something here for all tastes to set your feet tapping!
