St Edward's Church: Concerts
Concerts, Presentations and Special Services
St Edward's has an active choir, which gives frequent concerts as well as singing the regular Services. St Edward's Chamber Orchestra rehearses on Monday evenings and also gives concerts, sometimes in conjunction with the choir. Local professional and amateur musicians also perform regularly at the Church.

Wed 8 Nov. 7.25-9.30pm. St Edward’s. Cardiff Recorded Music Society. “Members' Choice”. The first of this season's opportunities to suggest favourite pieces of music. Rod Delamere is again our resident DJ! Non-members welcome (entrance £2).
Sat 11 Nov. 7pm. St Edward’s. Remembrance Concert. Music from across the ages on the theme of conflict, loss and home, by Nicole Boardman (mezzo-soprano), William Stevens (bass-baritone) and Emma Cayeux (piano). £6 (students £4).
Tue 14 Nov. 7.30pm. St Edward's Orchestra Soloists Concert.
Wed 15 Nov. 7.25-9.30pm. St Edward’s. Cardiff Recorded Music Society. Talk entitled “Beyond The Planets”. We are all familiar with the marvellous Planets suite, but Gwyn Parry-Jones invites us to sample some of the equally fine but much less well-known music produced by Gustav Holst. Non-members welcome (entrance £2)
Sat 18 Nov. 11am. St Edward’s. Coffee Concert: Rachel Morás (Mezzo Soprano) and Sian Davies (Accompanist). Rachel and Sian would like to lied you on a musical journey of rare and treasured operatic gems topped with a sprinkling of sunny Spanish rhythms served with some real home grown Welsh favourites. Rachel was born and raised in Port Talbot. A graduate of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, she won the Pendyrus Male Voice Choir Award and was twice awarded the Laura Ashley Foundation Scholarship.

Wed 22 Nov. 7.25-9.30pm. St Edward’s. Cardiff Recorded Music Society. Talk entitled “Jazz Pianists”. With some notable exceptions, jazz pianists have not generally enjoyed the recognition of their saxophone- and trumpet-playing counterparts. Martin Healey will show that they still have an integral role to play in the performance of jazz from different periods. Non-members welcome (entrance £2).

Wed 29 Nov. 7.25-9.30pm. St Edward’s. Cardiff Recorded Music Society. Talk entitled “An Evening with Donald Maxwell”. Operatic baritone Donald Maxwell has performed with leading opera companies all over the world and we are privileged to have the chance to hear about his illustrious career. Our thanks to our president Chris Ball who persuaded him to come and will interview him this evening. A highlight of the season! Non-members welcome (entrance £2).
